"When he's finished, he takes the waste, sometimes as much as 300 pounds of it, to Nature's Little Recyclers, a Back of the Yards worm farm. There, proprietors Ed and Dale Hubbard feed it to 2 million red earthworms housed in plastic boxes stacked almost to the 20-foot ceiling. Within a few days, the worms turn the waste into castings, a superrich, high-quality soil the Hubbards sell to farmers."
